Биография

Suzanne Munro

I write for joy. I write for the love of it. I write because I must.

Suzanne Munro began composing from an early age, improvising and making up music to pictures, (something she still loves to do today,) before learning to read music. She began “formal” piano lessons at the age of seven, taught by her mother for the first year. From 1986-1990 she studied composition and piano at the London College of Music, and went on to further study composition with Paul Patterson and piano with the late Raphael Terroni.

Suzanne composes extensively for the piano. Performances of her piano music include London venues: The British Music Information Centre and St. George’s, Hanover Square; as well as performances in other counties and those close to the composer’s home. "I also enjoy improvising freely and many of these inspire new piano compositions....." "much of my music is lyrical and melodic - all of it expresses something."

Suzanne’s other passion is writing for the voice, in all its forms: choral music, and works for solo voice, many of which have received performances. Her Requiem was performed in Ickenham and many of the solo works have been sung in venues in and around London.

"Inspiration comes from nature, human emotion, and I also enjoy writing religious choral and vocal music."

Suzanne is a member of the British Academy of Songwriters and Composers, and EPTA UK (European Piano teachers Association) Suzanne also enjoys teaching the piano and is passionate about passing on her love of music.

When not writing music or teaching, Suzanne also enjoys writing poetry, drawing, painting and photography.
